Where did the love blossom?
Painting has been Buddy LaHood’s passion for almost 50 years. His passion grew into a career as he wanted to create things for people, but where did it all start?
“My parents did not paint and neither do my siblings,” said LaHood. “I have often wondered where this passion and ability came from. It brings me great pleasure to take a blank canvas and turn it into something interesting or beautiful.”
His relationship with Jesus showed him where his passion for painting came from.
“I have a very good relationship with Jesus,” said LaHood. “I have found that I can find the answers to most of my questions in the Bible. The Bible says that “Every good and perfect gift comes down from the Father.”
As LaHood found his answers, the desire to paint became stronger as did his relationship with God. His paintings express the happiness and joy God gave him.
“I believe God put the passion and desire for painting in my heart,” said LaHood. “I want my paintings to bring happiness, and joy. I don’t have any interest in painting anything dark and dreary. I want my paintings to lift people up.”
The scripture that best communicates with LaHood’s passion is Psalm 37:4. “Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart”.
“I have been delighting myself in the Lord for a long time,” said LaHood. “He has given me the ability to create and has put the desire of painting into my heart.”
