Covid-19 & My Art

April 21, 2020

Art, specifically painting, is a major part of my life.  It is relaxing, enjoyable, energizing, satisfying, and fun.  It is one of the best ways I have found to express myself.  I usually paint a little or allot every day in my wonderful studio.  I am so very blessed to have a large studio where my painting supplies are set up and I can go in any time and paint for a few minutes or for hours.  I have enjoyed this luxury for several years…….. UNTIL 2020!   The year Covid-19 stole our freedom.

My family runs a large Assisted Living Facility.  We are responsible for 120 elderly residents who’s average age is 85.  Our residents are the most vulnerable segment of the population to this evil virus. Consequently my time has been sucked up because we are fighting a war against covid-19.  We are doing everything possible to prevent it from spreading through our facility. The work load at the facility has quadrupled.  We will win the battle eventually but it is no fun fighting it.

I have been physically, emotionally, and spiritually exhausted every day and haven’t had the energy or inspiration to paint.  It’s been pretty bad……..Until my daughter-in-love, Crystal shared an inspirational song with me.  It lifted me up out of the doldrums and reminded me that God has been faithful to me my entire life in good times and bad times.  When I started thanking Him and asking Him to forgive me for my bad attitude I felt much better and went into my studio and painted something I kinda like.  I named the painting ” Out of the Darkness Into the Light”

The song is Promises {featuring Joe L. Barnes & Naomi Raine)  I recommend it.  Awesome!. God is awesome!   I’m painting again.  He will get us through this Corona crisis.  Trust Him
